Cherry Blossom's Condition at Shunkoin Temple



The best time to enjoy cherry blossoms in Kyoto is this weekend. The blossoms just started blooming since it is been cold for this season.

Also, this is the quietest cheery blossom season in Kyoto due to inaccurate media coverages and travel alerts which increased unnecessary fears. But those who know Japan well are here to enjoy the blossoms without bothered by the crowd of people.

If you are worried about the radiation level here, it is 0.03 - 0.04 microsievert/hour, which is the same as the normal natural radiation level in Kyoto. That means there is no effect by the Fukushima Daiichi Power Plant accient, which is 725 km away from here.

According to the Bloomberg, some other major cities in the world have much higher raditaion level than Kyoto's level and even Tokyo's one (0.08 - 0.09 microsievert/hour due to the accident).
