Thich Nhat Hanh's Visit at Myoshinji Temple: April 23rd - 25th

Venerable Thich Nhat Hanh will visit Myoshinji Temple between April 23rd and 25th. His teaching of the Engaged Buddhism has inspired many people in different paths. I was also inspired by his books when I was in college and learned his way of teaching the Buddhism.

He will hold his talk at Hanazono University on April 24th at 13:00 (13:00 - 16:00).

January 9th - 15th


Schedule for My Zen Meditation Class (90 minutes)

My Zen meditation class starts with a 10-minute instruction in English. Then, I lead two 15-minute meditation session. Between two session, we have a Q&A time about Zen Buddhism, Japanese Buddhism, and Japanese culture in general. After that, I will show and explain Shunkoin's gardens and screen paintings in the prayer hall. You can learn how to incorporate Zen philosophy and meditation into your life style. Also, when I explain the garden and screen painting, you can also learn how to enjoy Japanese arts.

I start with a 10-minute instruction of Zen meditation. And, I will have two 15-minute meditation sessions. After that, Rev. Kawakami explains about Zen Buddhism, Japanese religion, garden and screen paintings at the temple, as well.

Reservation is not required.

In 2011, I devote myself to provide our high quality class to teach how to incorporate Zen Buddhist philosophy and meditation into your daily life.
